Outdated Chronicles of Nippon
The other day while on a 2 hour journey to a mountainous region of Kumamoto, i experienced the anxiety of not being able to get any reception for an hour. It was terrible, there were things to be settled and done but all i could do was sit and stare out of the window. I couldnt even enjoy the scenery because all i could think about was what was happening back home. My mum was sick and being a thousand miles away not being able to find out more just made that hour felt like eternity. I couldnt enjoy the rest of the day after that.
But now mummy is ok again, and whenever i call her she keeps reassuring me that she is much better and that i should also take care and enjoy myself. Sigh My mum is the best.
Now in beppu which is like the village of hot springs and the hostel here has internet! Tomorrow is Osaka which means more sight-seeing and shopping although i am flat broke. Dun come to Japan if you dont have enough self control. They have too many queer gadgets and delicious yummies you will be lured into buying without sparing a thought for the hole in your pocket.
heh, alrite... will be back soon! it feels like i ve missed out on so much in the past 16 days that i ve been here and also gained so much! Reading blogs for a bit now makes me feel as though i just woke up from a really long sleep and the world has moved on!
See you guys soon yeah!

Nippon chronicles 1
Fourth day here in Japan, woke up today with a terrible sore throat, in fact i think i woke up at about 6am and stayed awake till it was time to wake up because my throat was so swollen i had difficulty breathing. Plus the weather here is really cold and dry making every breath more torturous.
Got up for the usual simple but really tasty breakfast the hotel provides, and then went back to bed for an hour rest before heading out again. Today's also the first time it rained in our four days here.... COld.... BRrr....
Got some medication from a pharmacy for sore throats and kept sucking on vicks lozenges for the entire day today. I think i might have spoken less than 50 sentences to Hsu Lin today.. Haha. But the funny thing is, although it was hurting so bad, I forgot the pain the moment i walked into the ABC shoe shop and saw a pair of adidas i wanted to buy! hahaha.... Hsu Lin commented on that and said its kinda easy to tell i like the shoe because suddenly i am talkative all over again.
Well, its only been 4 days, i have another 15 to go and i feel home sick!!! not that im not enjoying myself, but because I'm sick and broke! I have so much stuff bought that i feel as though its time top leave this place already... but nope. I have another 15 days of mainly sight-seeing so hopefully i'll be able to have more self control and spend less! The food here is really yummy though... today i had porridge because i was sick. But it was yummylicious too! The porridge had oolong tea leaves in it...so it smelt really nice, was really tasty but not over-powering. very good for sick me.
My laundry's now spinning around the washing machine in the lobby and its going to take half an hour to wash, and probably another half an hour to dry. Shucks. But i wanna sleep.
Can't post up photos cuz its not my com... so... maybe when i'm back!
Jing: Sore throat seems to be the most common affliction amongst us yeah? Take care!
irene: No worries, i go out in at lest three layers and a scarf around my neck everyday.
John: Wah, that's alot of questions. I don't really know the details, but i know i'm not the only performer. Daren will be there too... its a Channel U outdoor concert for the purpose of launching their re-branding campaign me thinks. Sorry i can't give you proper details... hope this helps!
Qinyuan: Don't think I've seen you before rite? See you on 1st of june then!
Pam: You take care too, and use your time wisely yeah?
delphina: Gambatte with studies! Study hard slack smart!
Ok then, bye guys! Till then!

You heard it here first!
The moment i clicked "publish post", lightning flashed outside my window(ok i'm being a little over dramatic here.) and I heard a the sound of rubber tyres screeching to a halt outside of my house. It lasted for a good 2 seconds and i cringed as my body pre-empted itself for the sound of metal crunching.
And that was exactly what i heard!
Its not the first time i'm hearing such sounds, but its the first time such screeching of tyres ended up with a real CRASH!
I don't know what came over me, but immediately I got changed into a proper T-shirt, grabbed the Nikon D70 and ran out of the house into the rain. Then realised it was raining and had to grab an umbrella on the way out.
Some taxi driver had gotten into a crash, but what caused the crash i have no idea. And what he hit, I have no idea either. I'm no journalist. But i guess, I do have a bit of the kaypoh blood in me. But not kaypoh enough to cross the overhead bridge to get a better picture or to close in and ask questions.
Thank goodness no one was hurt. The taxi driver involved was spotted walking around his wreck examining the damage. Wa, I think I might be the first person who's reporting about this incident. So if by any chance you hear about this accident from any other forms of media or people, remember: You heard it here FIRST!

talking about accidents, while making a right turn somewhere along Chinatown, we met the most stupid driver(or most reckless, or most brainless, or all of the above.)EVER. If i remember correctly, it was a turquoise Piccanto with 9533T as part of its license plate number. This goon tried to do a U-turn on the second lane while we were trying to do a LEGAL U-turn on the first lane. As a result, Mr Lucky almost killed Piccanto 9533T! Piccanto 9533T is lucky that Mr. Lucky stopped in time. But seriously, trying to make a U-turn while being on the second lane is either plain irresponsible, or plain spastic la. Even if you were trying to court death, please don't pull other innocent law abiding bystanders into it. Seriously!

I. Must. Sleep. Now.
Zonked
Haven't slept in 46 hours and counting. I'm feeling quite emotionless and expressionless.
Like i can't quite find the words to put down now the strength type it out.
But I'm awake. And that's the irritating part.
I have so much to do before flying off to the land of the rising sun! So many things to buy to prepare for trip to land of rising sun. But because of my lack-of-sleep state, I'm not experiencing th excitedness that one should have when one is about to embark on a 19 day holiday to the land-of-really-interesting-gadgets-and-cool-banana-whatevas.
I think alot of you little ones are reading my blog in envy telling me how much you wish you could go on a long holiday like mine to a cool country like Nippon. Well, good ol' me has spent a good 15 years of her life studying and taking examinations and this is the buffer period between writing the last word on her last examination paper and starting on the next phase in her life.
So don't be too envious because it's always the most 幸福 being a student! So all of you study hard ok, when i come back.. i want to hear of good news. =)
I think i should really just go try and buy a ticket to lalaland now no matter how hard it is.
I. Need. Sleep.

Justice Prevails!
Yayness! Japan trip is once again confirmed! We didn't use weapons or force but simply spent hours at a kopitiam 'paper up talk soldier' to prepare ourselves for whatever problems or issues we might be presented with. Oh and we had many 军师‘s who were helping us come up with solutions and ways to debate this issue! What a memorable start to a memorable grad trip!
In a nutshell, 6 of us signed up for a 8-day tour in TOkyo with XX tour agency having been assured that the itinerary we saw was the itinerary we would get(there was no fine print saying that it would be subjected to changes). What really attracted us to this itnerary was that we would spend two weekdays at disneyland and disneysea! But after paying the full amount on Sunday, they dropped us a bombshell! THey handed us a new itinerary which indicated that we would be spending our weekend at disneyland!

Oh, we were pissed. What more, they only showed us the new itinerary after our money was in their pockets! Anyhow, the management was alot more helpful and willing to listen to what we had to say. And I am really really glad that they relented and are willing to revert back to something closer to the old itinerary with weekdays at disney.
Like what ol' Helmi says "if i'm going to be unhappy right from the beginning, I won't even go."
I was really worried about that, but now it seems we're happier than ever! Yesterday's adrenaline-rush day really helped in bonding the six of us me thinks. So that's nice. =)
Quotable Quotes of this memorable day:
"So... is that our problem?"
when the guy in charge tried to pull a we-are-so-benevolent-in-allowing-tour-to-go-ahead-even-though-there-are-only-13-people.
"I think we get to CHOOSE the words to use?"
when other guy in charge tried to correct our use of the word "cheated"
Now that everything is set in stone and we're all set, the only thing we have to worry about now... is the Onsen issue.

Tag-happy!
The thing i like about facebook, is how photos are so easily shared just by a simple tagging function. But i have to admit, i was kinda slow in discovering this cool function. And my moment of revelation resulted in me tagging every single person/object present in the picture. Damn cheap thrill la. I even tagged the roasted turkey in a christmas picture!
Anyway, here are some pictures I "kop" from facebook that was under "photos of you" all thanks to the lovely tagging function! Yayness!

Welcome Baby Ian Lam!
I am your fan club president. *waves*
since other contenders are either pregnant or in
HK frolicking on some nice yacht. hee hee hee.

Looking at the last photo makes me sleepy... and i should be considering its now 4.30am. Lots to complete before flying off to Japan, but i'm a bit sad, cuz now Japan trip is very complicating.
Tomorrow the 6 of us troopers and two more musketeers will be meeting up for lunch to discuss alternative plans and to pay the tour agency a visit to set the record straight. How can the tour agency swap the days on an 8-day itinerary after we have paid the full sum? SO irresponsible right? From spending two weekdays in Disneyland to spending a weekend in Disneyland. Weekend in Disneyland means alot more crowd, alot more time spent on queuing up and alot less rides . Hmpf. Wish us luck.

We were trying very hard to take the picture while Dan was still in the midst of hosting the wedding haha... but it still turned out pretty nice! Jaime looked SO pretty in the wedding gown.
Joanne Er! Thanks to her...I have nice hair!
She's really nice, the next time any of you go down to Heatwave at Marina,
say hello ok?

downstairs
Huimin directed me to weetz's blog today, and as i read on,
something made my heart flutter as though i was in love!
I'm happy.
If only there was a way to document the overwhelming emotions we felt at the screening when the last shot of the sweeper Aunty vanished leaving only an empty space and the generous applause from the audience. What an amazing feeling. I must say that the applause we got that night from the 200 odd people who were there was comparable or even more uplifting than the applause i got at the Indoor Stadium Feb 4th 2007.
brownianmotions, a group of 4 individuals who were brought together on the night of Feb 4th, at the Indoor Stadium has gone through alot of shit and tears to bring you all this 18 minute documentary, downstairs.

"The collage film on void-decks is a deckful of precious soundbites and visuals - anything but void. I told the film-makers of Downstairs after the screening that to me, it was far more superior than Tan Pin Pin's Singapore Ga Ga. And I meant it." (weetz, 2008)

No Labour Day
Having nothing planned today, I planned(ironic huh?) to stay home, read some books, tinkle on some musical notes, strum some guitar, hit some beats, chill out to some nice music and maybe go for a short run and get some sun.
In the end, I did finish up Roald Dahl's "BFG"(which is a kids book but evergreen to even 80-year-olds), did strum a little on the strings, did hit some beats, did chill out to nice music but ended up doing very little of any of the above and feeling extremely RESTLESS and BORED.
That's the problem with us Humans. Or maybe just me myself.
When I'm occupied with things to do, I look forward to having some time to myself to do my own things.
When I'm out with people, I look forward to having some me time.
But when i have me time to do what i want to do. I don't want to do the things i want to do.
And then i get Restless and i want to go out.
Oh this is so frustrating.
And as a result, I had famous amos cookies for lunch, a packet of Mee Goreng for dinner, lotsa unhealthy snacks at a Karaoke, 3 pieces of pan-fried carrot cake at 11pm, and then another packet of Mee Goreng awhile ago at 4am.
Haiyo.
Now i really need that run.
Just finished working on the paper edit for Peeks and brown boy, its been a while since i looked at any FYP stuff so it took awhile for my brain to warm-up. I think its time to sleep but my eyes are still open and hence this mini escape to the one outlet for me to ramble and rant.
Was chatting to CX just now and then while sending him the songs, realised that most of the songs I've sung for dramas are all dramas that have him in it! Haha! I'm not complaining... I'm happy! Its these little coincidences in life that brings people closer together! I'm happy to be singing and even happier that the reviews are good. Yay. =)
Well, its been a year since superstar, half a month since my last paper, so how long more till I sing again?
Not long! Recording theme song for "球爱大战" this Saturday with Carrie and Theresa! Yeehah! Looking forward to it!

I suck at Art, and my mum was always helping me with
my art work in primary school so just now while eating my
second helping of Mee Goreng, I started doodling on my transcripts
and i must say I'm pretty proud of them!
