Singapore Hit Awards 2007


MY mum showed me a comment on the evening tabloid the other day, and she had a good chuckle at me having being nominated as "best newcomer". Its not a good comment... it was something like

"chenshiwei 和 chendiya 凭一首歌就能够被提名为“最佳新人”真是太不可思议！－不满的听众” H

aha, but i know she's proud of me nevertheless. So a biggie thank you to each and everyone of you who supported me throughout the competition and voted for me when the song "chumo" was in the billboard charts. That's the reason i'm in the running for "best newcomer". THank you. For helping me make my mother feel proud of me. =)

Anyhow, the competition is really strong! Haha, and although i'm feeling happy that i'm nominated for something as prestigious as this(i would never have imagined that one day i would be one of the nominees for something like this!) i can't help but have mixed feelings.

I think till now, many of you still don't know that i don't have an album coming up at all. Alot of people's first question to me would be " so when is your album coming out?" and when i say "i don't have one." they always try to switch the topic to avoid embarassment or hurt for me. Haha... quite funny really. But well, the mixed feelings perhaps is because of all the people in the running for this award, each and everyone of them have an album. Even daren has his own album coming up. So i count each and everyone of them full-fledged singers.

As for me?

I'm still album-less and i feel slightly 遗憾 about it.

It would have been ideal and perfect if i had an album in production. Then this nomination would mean so much more to me... BUT i still want to give thanks. Give thanks to God that he has already given me so much. So much more than i could have ever ask for. (although i'm obviously rather greeeeeeedy... hahaha) My road thus far has been an amazing one... and i think my short term goal for now. Will be to survive my FYP... which is currently in a bit of a messy situation.

Woot!~

I'll be involved in the mediacorp radio event at the zoo end of this month... I'll update the proper details soon la. Probably get kelly to update it on tandiya.blogspot cuz afterall, i do want this to be my personal blogspace and not just a place for updates. =)

Will be involved in preseident's star charity... singing a duet with Singapore Idol's Jonathan Leong(TOO TALL!!!!!!) and also performing at AMK hub on the 23rd this month. SO do drop by and say hello if you're around the corner... haha.

ANd a big reminder! I read the tagboard but i refrain from tagging because some imposters like to pretend to be me and tag as me. So if there's anything you want me to reply to... leave me a comment ok? Its under each post. =) I try my best to reply to all...
