DOMedictine medicine for the Soul

In my case, it was medicine for my womb. My poor cramping womb.

Been holed up at home fighting girlish cramps but venturing out during the afternoon for a short shopping stint and late at night for a meet-up with Victoria (A really fun to hang out with Boss of 老香港茶餐厅！）Anyway, that aside, I was in pain la basically. So when i got home, my mum told me that me to drink DOM benedictine , you know this like medicinal wine thingy which always has advertisments on TV showing how women who drink it become all vibrant and alive. Like if you drink DOM you can take care of your litter of kids, do all the housework, cook for your husband, wash all the clothes and still look like you could save the world. Yah, that's DOM.

My mum said it helps to take away the cramps. So I thought, why not? Firstly, I like to drink wine. I like the way wine goes down my throat all nice and warm and the way it releases a nice warm feeling through out my body. So i decided to give it a try since i was hurting so bad.

FWAH! its 40% alcoholic value can??!?

That's equal to VODKA, TEQUILA, CHIVAS, BACARDI and what have you! Woah... Quite the scary. But the funny thing is... the moment i opened the bottle, I was reminded of my dearest Grandfather...

Which, is not the point of my blog entry now. SO i'll skip that for now.

Anyhow, its 40%! Gosh, that's alot in case you peeps are uninformed... the alcoholic value of a can of beer is probably like 5%, and those hooters that young teenagers who have just hit 18 drink are maybe at most 12%?

A small small glass of 40% alcoholic value liquid can get quite alot of people feeling wuzzed out. Gosh.

Which is probably why my mum's bottle of DOM was still unopened until i got to it. My mum can't drink. if she drank that every morning, the tution kids would be holding a party in my house everyday...

So i poured out a small amount that would have filled maybe one shot glass. And took a sip. Wah! So strong! The alcoholic vapour stung my nose and i felt i could get drunk just by sniffing it up. Its very sweet! Its not like normal alcoholic drinks which are sometimes bitter if not taste like chemicals (so you wonder, why do people like to drink if the drinks taste so bad. Ans: Cuz you can mix it with orange juice, ribena, coke, sprite and other sweet beverages so that it tastes nice and also gives you nice tingly feeling...)

Then in one go I gulped the rest down.

Instantly, I became a part of the fantastic four. I was that hot burning character... forgot what is called la. But my throat was like burning!!! I had to keep going "AHhhhh Ahhhh AHhhh...." And i could literally feel the alcohol vapour evaporating from the sides of my throat and surface of my tongue.

For the uninformed, Alcohol evaporates faster than normal liquids ok? that's why when the nurse cleans your skin with alcohol swabs before an injection, that area that was cleaned feels cold. Quicker rate of evaporation means more heat is being lost from your skin, hence cold sensation. Ok, now I'm Diya the science teacher.

Anyhow, at the end of it all, I felt good. Although my throat does feel a little damaged. But my womb feels gooood! I'm not hurting! At all! So amazing right... I'm so going to take DOM the next time i'm having cramps. You can do it too... if you're above 18. If you're not, don't. because not only issit ILLEGAL. But i heard that your livers are not as developed until a certain age, so taking strong alcoholic drinks before then is really bad for your liver. And if the AndreaDC incident taught you anything, its that you should really treasure your liver because you can't live without your liver. Its not like your kidney where you can get dialysis, no liver means death.

Oh yayness! What a long post.... I just kept typing. I must be feeling so relieved of my cramps.

I hope you don't think this post is gross. Cuz i'm talking about my cramps... =P
