So technology has taken us beyond our wildest imaginations,
Machines that do our jobs for us, faster than us.
Wheels that move to take us from place to place faster than our legs can take us.
Wings that transport us from one continent to another, faster than the setting sun.
Quickly. Faster. Hurry up.
As compared to our forefathers, we have alot of time SAVED.
Which actually means, we should have alot more time to do other things.
We no longer spend hours on menial labour.
We use our smarty pants brains to think up formulas and solutions and nifty designs, and then leave the rest of the job to the machines.
"Oh take the PIE expressway, its faster."
"I'll set my washing machine to work first, and then I'll cook dinner."
"Put it in the slow cooker, the soup will be ready when I get home."
"I'll take a taxi, be there in a jiffy."
"Hair Dryer."
"Instant food."
"Instant gratification."
"With immediate effect."
So we should have more time to spend with our family.
More time to do the meaningful things in life.
More time to spread the love.
More time to reach out.
More time to reach in.
Then why is it.
That this is not the case?
I am at a church camp Penang, with all the technology I occupy myself with when I'm at home.
And I ask myself. So why am I here?
What is the reason?
I have a few. To getaway from it all.
To enjoy the thrill of taking to the skies.
To read a book.
To take a chill pill.
To have fun.
No. All wrong. I'm here for answers. For questions. For a breakthrough.
For the thorns to be removed, for the heart to be renewed.
All the time in the world saved up.
And all I do, is fill it up with more of my wants and desires. When outside of my door, my parents are waiting loyally for that little bit of spare time I can fork out. And my God is gently, patiently knocking. Waiting for me to just turn that knob, and open the door.
All that time in the world.
How do you use it?
How the heck did I lose it?
' I'm sick of trying to catch up.
I'm going to stroll my own way, and still see you at the end point. '
I'm going to stroll my own way, and still see you at the end point. '
