Fallen

Do you think babies are born pure?
Without sin?

If we were all born imperfect,
and have fallen from grace,
what else is it we fear?

I mean, we've already fallen.
Falling is a process, and as experience tells me ...
it is usually so quick,
you don't even know what hit you till 2 seconds after you hit the ground,
before the brain finally registers the pain.
That is followed by a long duration of bewilderment/acceptance/annoyance,
followed by trying situation of understanding why you fell in the first place,
followed by bragging of how you survived the fall...
getting friends to sign on the cast,
or simply showing the scar off like a trophy you won for the beauty contest in school.
(bad example i know.)

So fallen.
Both feet off the ground,
both feet on the ground.

I'll fall, again and again.
That's in our nature,
but its not in our nature to get up again and again,
sometimes its easier to stay down,
when you're that low,
you can't get any lower,
so there's no fear.

But when you're up and about,
the fear is that you'll fall again,
and that fear makes you walk every step in doubt,
wake up every morning with worry,
live every second wondering about the next second.

Maybe swimming would be easier?
