Tie that Red String

I'm proud to say that I just re-stringed my third guitar.

That means to say that I, Lydia Tan Diya, youngest and only daughter of the Tan family am the official guitar re-stringer.

I am also the official singer.

Baby Taylor Scarface, Mini GS mimi and the Tommy Emmanuel Maton.

All three experiences were amazing and grueling.

The Baby is missing the low E string because it broke, it was the first string I worked on.

Mini mimi had a loose peg that wouldn't fit. I left it as it was anyway after a good 20 minutes of trial and error and realised it's fine the way it is with all the tension pulling in the perpendicular direction.

Mr oh-i-am-so-famous-and-expensive-and-warm-sounding Maton, the most expensive and MOST NEGLECTED guitar of the family had a low E peg which REFUSED TO BUDGE. It took me 45minutes and all my finger muscles and alot of brain activity to devise a way to pull it out. Ask me for more details.

This is a pointless and meaningless post to some. But to me, it's another milestone in getting chummy with my guitars. The more hardships I go through, the more ready I feel and the more enthusiastic I am about getting them to love me back.

The finger scabs are returning, and it feels good.
Meanwhile, crazy week 2 is coming to an end, despite me absolutely loving my friends and feeling anointed and blessed to be a part of their big day, I am so looking forward to wedding-less weekends so I can take a breather.

Heh heh.

Ho Yingci,
I love you and I'm so glad you found someone who really knows how to respect and cherish you. Only because you deserve to be respected and loved.

I re-stringed the guitar for your wedding service tomorrow.
May my brother create music for the heavens on it in celebration of your love!
